New Expectations to Leaders, Rotary Club AM Kap
Uhr | Ort: Cape Town, South Africa
South Africa is in the middle of an important change process. Their business leaders need to grow into the league of their international well-trained colleagues of large global organizations. South Africa’s economic growth is limited to the available high level specialists and leaders. Human Resources as a department must understand their strategic importance beyond administration. Global companies in South Africa need more trained South-Africans in mid and high-level leadership roles with local knowledge and global perspectives. This in addition to the globally changing expectations to leaders in terms of more ethical behavior presents a great challenge as well as an opportunity for South Africa’s leadership development institutions.
Tripl3Leader acknowledged that South Africa was one of the first countries which has established certain sustainability rules for companies traded at the Jo’burg stock exchange, and along same lines needs more dedication to the individual leadership training towards ‚tripled‘ leaders, meaning business leaders who drive their business success in all three dimensions of sustainability: People, Planet and Profit.
It was a pleasure to discuss these issues in a group of highly motivated, succesful and socially-engaged individuals at the Rotary Club Am Kap in Cape Town.
