The book Crash Communication provides a very good management and leadership metaphor from the world of aviation.

Peter Brandl understands wonderfully how to show the parallels. For example, in the topic 'In love with the goal and blind to the danger' or why we lose sight of what is essential. Brandl shows 7 different scenarios, which all led to the (airplane) crash, analyzes them and describes similarly proceeded enterprise examples on. The problem areas always include communication in hierarchical structures, lack of responsibilities, covering up of mistakes as well as man-machine problems and last but not least our human limitations in evaluating and deciding.

The book is excellent if you are looking for understandable stories that offer a lesson. For all those who can reach employees and colleagues with metaphors that are initially set outside the company, precisely on a transatlantic flight. It makes an excellent gift for executives in the category of somewhat relaxed yet educational reading.
